The committee is proud of this year’s short films and believes audiences will appreciate the eclectic mix and range of films.

Several films have a local connection.

Included in the lineup is “Bubblegum Smackers,” a short film written and directed by University of Central Florida film student, Lindsay Garvin and produced by University of Central Florida film student, Meg Wechter.

Also included is “Italian Life” by University of Central Florida film student Eric Coppa-Cross.

Additionally, the Florida Flavor film block will feature films made in the state.

Talent also comes from around the world with films from Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, India, Syria, Germany, and Taiwan.

The festival also features two films from young talent this year.  “My License” is a short animation created by 6th grader, Elizabeth Herrick, and “Anti-Tobacco PSA” was directed by 3rd grader, Jay Nibhanupudy.  Both of these films will screen in the festival’s new “E” for Everyone category which is family-friendly.
